NEW- Maybelline Colour Show Lip colour review

Hello

As I was going through my lippies drawers, I realise I don't have a lot of plums and reds in my stash so I made a quick stop at Guardian. I found a new display of the Maybelline Colour Show Lipstick.

Images from Maybelline Facebook page

Maybelline New York takes you on a color adventure with the launch of Color Show Lipcolor; an electrifying new assortment of 20 intense, long-lasting lip colors straight off the New York runway. A celebration of beauty and style, Color Show Lipcolor will help definitive trend setters and style seekers piece together killer getups with the most luscious hues! The 20 stay-true colors promise to remain locked on your lips in heat and humidity in temperatures for lip color that’s always vivid, always intense and forever runway-ready. Get complete coverage in just one layer with this easy-to-apply lip color that’s designed to keep dryness at bay.

Description taken from Luxola.com

The display had the colours categorised in :
RED - Classic and iconic
PINK - Sweet or punchy
NUDE - Natural and timeless
PLUM - Dramatic and outstanding

Since Guardian was having a "buy 3 for the price of 2" promo, I picked up 3 colours.

L-R: Red Siren, Nude Mocha, Plum Perfect

Red Siren 205

Nude Mocha 305

Plum Perfect 403

My thoughts

Priced at $9.90 each, the black plastic tube feel light but sturdy. The lipstick apply smoothly and opaque with just one swipe. It does makes my lips feel moisturised which is probably due to its glossy finish. While it can last a good 5 hours with light drinking, it does fade off a lot when I started eating. However, it leaves a nice even stain of colour on my lips. With 20 colours to chose from (5 different shades in each colour family), you can definitely find a shade or 2 that you will love. Overall, I definitely will be getting a few more shades, especially now that Luxola.com is selling them at 15% off the regular retail price. Or head to Guardian for the "3 for 2" promo!

Available at selected Watsons, Guardian, SaSa, departmental stores, major supermarkets and hypermarts, and online at Luxola

Lippy Girl Makeup - New In Singapore!

Hello

*NEW* Vegan Friendly Makeup!

Lippy Girl Makeup has the primary goal of producing professional quality cosmetics. The cosmetics with the Lippy Girl label are eco-friendly, natural, organic, vegetarian and animal friendly.  Neither our products nor ingredients are tested on animals, and our ingredients are natural, organic, vegetarian and will never contain chemical preservatives.

To be honest, I have never heard of this brand before, cause I assume its not available here in Singapore. I had the honour to try out a few of the lipsticks that were sent to me for review purposes by the main distributor for Lippy Girl Makeup, Gulsha. Thank you.

When I received the package last week, I got a little excited when I opened it because it was package in a pinky lilac box!

A sleek black metal tube which is very sturdy and heavy too

Lip shimmer stick

Beware its gonna be a little picture heavy!
Looking at the colour chart provided, No.1 caught my eyes first! The other 2 I picked were No.7 & No.10

                                    L-R: No.10 Rosie Posie, No.1 Abraca-bam, No.7 Snog Me

My final thoughts

Packaging:
I love the sturdy sleek black packaging. Although it is heavy but I feel that its not often you can get a sturdy packaging in a lipstick.

Colour and staying power:
The choice of colours are pretty basics. You get the reds, nudes, browns as well as a colour of the year, which is Abraca-bam.

However, I was a little disappointed of how my first choice of colour swatches. It takes many swipes to get to medium intensity. I was hoping it to be more opaque and matte but it ended up a little metallic to my liking. The other two shades were more moisturising then the purple one. And colour comes off easily then the purple one.

Staying power is not the best nor the worst. Average of 4 hours just like most lipsticks does on my lips. The shimmer stick is the most moisturising out of all and great for those who don't often apply lipsticks. It gives a nice sheen to your lips without adding any colour.

All in all, I would say its an ok lipstick. Given my huge stash of lip products, I don't see myself reaching for this often.

V10 Plus skincare review

Hello,

In the previous post, I talked about my experience in attending V10 Plus workshop and how I enjoyed it. For me, if the workshop is fun, interesting and informative, I would usually not hesitate to buy their products, and so I came did a small haul. Before I go into my review, I thought it would be interesting to talk a little bit more on the products they have to offer. As it is a skincare brand, the range of products they have to offer are quite extensive.

While they have basic care like cleansers and moisturisers, what caught my interest and attention is definitely their serums. Not only they come in colourful bottles that represents different concerns, they come in 2 sizes as well! If you are someone like me, who loves trying new things, the 10ml bottles which retails for $59 each, are perfect for those who travel often too. The 30ml bottles which retails at $159 each are definitely worth your money.

If you would like to know what are different type of serums or other products they have to offer, head over to their website . Do not be overwhelmed by it as there is a skin counselling survey which you can take to find which serums suits you best.

Images taken from their websites

What I love about these serums is that you don't have to change your whole skincare routine! You can use these serums as a skin supplement to your current skincare routine. Easy! And they have serums for each skincare concerns like sensitive skin series, hydrating series, anti-aging series and many more.

And if you have more that one serums to combat your different skin problems, all you have to do is just mix one drop from each serum and apply! I feel like a scientist when I do that!

So what did I get?

My thoughts

I love it. It definitely makes my skin look brighter and smoother. Even my sister commented that my skin looks good and different! I love the colourful glass bottles and I do not have to change my skincare routine even though I have 4 new serums to add. I would definitely want to get more of the serums. FYI, the picture is not edited! No photoshop, no filter! LOVE LOVE!

CLIO 3 Step Lipnicure Review

Hello

The 1st manicure for your lips! Clio's Lipnicure is a long lasting liquid lipstick that stays on just like a manicure and offers a full blast of colours with just one swipe! This anti-smudgeproof lip product will retain its colour from the first application giving you kissable lips for up to 12 hours.

Clio's Lipnicure range consist of a primer which has SPF 13, 6 sexy shades and a topcoat.
image from Clio's Facebook page

Directions:

I picked up 2 out of the six, 8 Guilty Pink & 2 Nasty Pink

The base/primer swatch clear. It has SPF13 and moisturise my lip well.

Just like any other clear lipgloss, it adds shine to your lips for that luscious finish.

Swatches are done with just one coat

Bottom swatches with top coat

The water test.

Pat dry with a tissue

The smudge test

The removing test with one swipe of cotton using Bioderma

My thoughts:

Colours are so pigmented however, the shade range is very limited. I would love to see some browns or more neutral colours added for everyday use. It might not appeal to those who are afraid of bright colours. Application wise, you have to be very careful and it does need extra effort to get a perfect shape. It also felt drying and tight on the lips after about a minute once applied. Maybe that is the reason why they have the base and the topcoat in the range. With that said, the colours stay on forever even with constant eating, drinking and talking! Do note that it is better to apply this with a moisturised lips. Better yet if you exfoliate first! Also, I use an oil based eyes and lip makeup remover so I do not have to rub excessively to remove.

All in all, I do like this product and will definitely purchase more if there are more neutral colours rather than BAM-WHAM-IN-YOUR-FACE colours.

Retailing at $18.90 for the colours, $11.90 for the base and $14.90 for the topcoat, you can get them at Watsons.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette (Photos and Review)

Hello

Hourglass ambient powder has always been on my Wish List/To Buy List ever since saw it on YT and beauty blogs. But with a price tag of $45 for a finishing powder, I can just wish that it will magically appear in my hand. Ok I know that's pretty much impossible because no one knows I want this.

Anyway, I was looking at Sephora's website to check what's new and I saw this Hourglass palette. Without even thinking twice, added it in my cart and check out immediately! And, here's the beauty:

Taken from Sephora:

Available at Sephora's Website
A limited-edition palette featuring three shades of Ambient Lighting Powder, the high-tech, soft-focus finishing powder that features state-of-the-art technology to recreate the most exquisitely flattering types of light.
Create your perfect light. Ambient Lighting Powder is a groundbreaking collection of finishing powders that capture, diffuse, and soften the way light reflects on your skin. Unlike traditional powders, which merely cloak imperfections, Ambient Lighting Powder utilizes photoluminescent technology to filter out harsh light and refine the appearance of the complexion. The powders deliver a multidimensional luminescence to every skintone, making it appear softer and lit from within. The finishing powders enhance skin in any type of light, including flash photography. With three universal shades available in the Ambient palette, you can create your desired effect

This palette includes one new limited-edition shade, Incandescent Light, and two existing shades, Dim Light and Radiant Light. It also comes with a complimentary 0.16 oz deluxe mini sample of Veil Mineral Primer. This product is free of talc, gluten, fragrance, and nanoparticles.

Pictures are taken in different lightings

Retails at $58, I can finally justify my purchase. Instead of 1, you get 3 finishing powders. Though it is smaller than the regular size, it is perfect for a makeup junkie like me!  It was hard to capture the swatch on camera, however I did manage to do a before and after picture with this product.

Before

After

My thoughts:
I feel that it looks amazing when photographed. My under eyes area are usually my biggest issue due to the Syringoma but this powder helps to blur it out. Nothing can cover my syringoma so to have a product that blurs those imperfections, I give it a two thumbs up. What I also love about this palette is that I can use all 3 powder on my face at one go. Here's how:

Incandescent Light- Use as a highlight on my T-zone, cupid's bow and chin
Dim Light- Use all over my face after my foundation especially under the eyes
Radiant Light- Use on temples, jawline and near all hairlines
All in all, I did not regret getting this palette and foresee myself trying more of Hourglass's products, if not, more of the ambient lighting palette.

So, will this be in your Wish List? Or would you just rather get out and purchase this yourself a.s.a.p?
P.S: This palette was OOS on Sephora's website when I last check on 12th November!

NEW ! Etude House Precious Mineral Any Cushion (Review)

Hello

Image from Etude House's Facebook

Etude House recently released their new product, Precious Mineral Any Cushion. Retailing at $32 for 15g of product (re-fillable), it is available at all Etude's Stores. With 4 shades to choose from, I picked up mine in the shade W24 Honey Beige (the darkest of the 4).

It claims:
This cushion pact perfects all-day radiant and moist skin with its multi-function of brightening, wrinkle-reducing, sebum control and flawless coverage. SPF50+/PA+++

Packaging:
House in a pink case, the puff included is being separated with a plastic lid. Though the case comes with a mirror, I don't think I will bring it around with me in my purse because of the thickness of its case (maybe due to the cushion).

Coverage:
I would use this more for normal everyday use rather than for special occasions due to its high SPF and light coverage. It gives slightly more coverage than a cc cream but lesser than a traditional foundation. It covers the redness around my nose but not my acne scarrings.

My final thoughts:
Light coverage but good for outdoor use due to high SPF. Feels lightweight on the skin and if you have dry skin, you can definitely get away without setting it with powder. It lasted about 4-5hours on me before I start to shine if I am indoors most of the time. As for its skin care claims, I only notice the brightening effect it gives (after a week usage).
